Frequentis is looking for an experienced Sales & Business Development Manager Defence for the Nordic & Baltics region

You have the excellent opportunity to join the Frequentis team in the Nordics and Baltic region. Frequentis is looking for a Sales & Business Development Manager with a proven track record within the defence industry. We believe you have extensive experience from the defence technology environment, ideally focusing on software and communications, including understanding cyber security and air traffic management principles.
You will have a flexible work location in this role, with regional travel up to 30 - 50 % required. You work from where you are, at home, airport, hotel or office. Important to check-in at the office every week or every second week.
As a Sales & Business Development Manager, your main work tasks and responsibilities will be:
You will be responsible for developing Frequentis' Defence business in the region according to the defined strategy. Some of the main work tasks will be:
- Build relationships with key stakeholders, customers and partners.
- Conduct sales meetings with clients to understand their challenges and needs.
- Identify the right solution and products in close cooperation with Frequentis competence center to meet the client's needs.
- Develop business case according to needs and proposed solution.
- Identify and develop new sales opportunities.
- Lead bid/capture activity, including responding to ITTs.
- Negotiate and close high-value contracts.
- Navigate governmental procurement processes.
- Create reports for opportunity and sales pipeline.
- Collaborate closely with Nordic management and HQ in Vienna.
- Report to Head of Sales Defence in Vienna.
To be successful in the role, we believe you have this knowledge, skills and experience:
- Master degree in business & administration, ICT or engineering.
- An outstanding sales and business development track record (minimum five years in a senior sales position).
- A proven ability to build relationships, communicate well with all levels of organizations, understand client challenges and requirements, identify opportunities, lead bid/capture activity (including responding to ITTs) and successfully negotiate and close high-value contracts.
- Used to working and understanding developing a need, identifying key stakeholders, and working with dual and military-based procurement processes.
- Extensive experience in the defence technology environment.
- Technically affine, with the ability to engage at a reasonable level of technical/specialist product/domain detail.
- Knowledge of air traffic management principles.
- Experience and knowledge of working with sales and business development in the Nordics and Baltics market. It would be considered of additional benefit if you can operate internationally – including Northern Europe/Europe.
- Knowledge about the following channels NATO, and via the USA on Foreign Military Sales (FMS), Direct Sales (DS).
- Experienced at selling directly to Ministry of Defence and international equivalents and identifying and partner were helpful, with the global defence OEMs & systems integrators.
- Adept at navigating government procurement processes.
- An execution-focused individual who will seize the initiative and work swiftly and tenaciously to get results.
- Strong financial awareness. Both internally and at the budgetary end of the potential end-users.
- A person with respective MIL clearances, ideally in the Nordics and Baltics states
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English plus one Scandinavian language.
